Just because it’s Labor Day doesn’t mean you can skip out on your workouts!!! Take this workout to your gym or do it at home to cap off an awesome 3 day weekend! Modify the exercises where you need to, but make sure to CHALLENGE yourself. Remember: if it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.

I hope you all had an absolutely wonderful and blessed Labor Day Weekend filled with family, friends, and awesome memories.

Fear. We have all experienced it at some point in life, whether it was in the form of stage freight or a fear of heights. In all honesty, fear is a natural occurrence and can be a good/helpful phenomenon. For example; if you’re standing on the edge of a cliff, there is a reason you get chills down your spine and your heart begins to race. It’s a safe-guard.

However, fear can be a prison. When you CHOOSE to let fear control your life, then it is no longer a safe-guard. At that point, fear no longer protects you, it hinders you. Fear has a funny way of holding you back from reaching your God-given potential. Fear may be keeping you from applying for a new job or trying out for a sporting team. Fear can stop us from utilizing our talents, from reaching our goals, and ultimately from truly living these beautiful lives that we have been blessed with. Whatever the fear is that lives inside of you, GET RID OF IT.

2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” That verse says it all! God does not intend for us to live in a constant, crippling state of fearfulness! I know too many people (myself included) that, in the past, have allowed themselves to be crippled by fear. Go through this week with a fresh, new, BOLD outlook on life. It’s your life and you were designed to live it BIG!!!

Alright guys, it’s already the end of another blessed week. Time flies when you’re having fun! What have you done this week to work towards your goal? Did you get your water in everyday? Most days? Did you make it to the gym as often as you intended to? Did you pass up on the donuts at the office? Remember guys, every little change counts!

What I want to focus on today, going into this weekend is LETTING GO. Think of all the negative habits that you have developed over the years, emotionally/mentally, and simply LET THEM GO. Whether you’re a wife/mother who is constantly putting herself on the back-burner or a high school athlete filled with fear of failure and doubt… LET IT GO. Maybe your bad habit is on the list above, maybe it isn’t. Recognize what is crippling your progress and free yourself from it.

It is my prayer today that each one of you are able to find the beauty inside you. To find a positive trait within yourself that can replace the negative you’re freeing yourself from.

It’s not about how good you are, it’s about how good you want to be. It’s about the dedication. It’s about the drive. It’s about the passion. It’s about the work that you are willing to put in day in and day out. I don’t know a single person who ever got better at something by NOT doing it. Try, fail, try again, but don’t give up. Don’t ever give up.

You can have excuses or you can have results. Not both. Never both.

Yesterday was a struggle. My workout was less than mediocre and I was having a “bad body day” (Yes, even personal trainers are subject to those negative feelings). After talking to a close friend, I was reminded that I AM NOT A SUPERHERO. Not every workout is going to be “the best workout you’ve ever had”, not every lift is going to result in a new personal best, but that is what makes the really awesome workouts so special.

"Success is the sum of small efforts - repeated day in and day out."
 - Robert J. Collier.

It is not one day of clean eating that makes us or breaks us. It is not a single workout that creates our best physique… or our worst. The truth is, it is our efforts day in and day out that determine our success or our failure. It is our ability to be patient and to see the big picture. The old saying goes “good things come to those who wait”, but I don’t find that saying to be entirely truthful. The results you want will NOT come if you sit idly and watch life pass you by. Good things come to those who quit making excuses (“Shut Up”), do what it takes to achieve their goals (“Work Hard”), and have the perseverance to keep working towards that big picture EVEN WHEN IT GETS HARD (“Be Patient”).

CHOOSING to live a healthy lifestyle is hard Hey, if it was easy “everybody would be doing it” right? Let’s be real honest for a sec. It’s easier to rely on fast food or take out than to prep your food at the beginning of the week. It’s easier to sleep in than to get up and get your cardio in before work. It’s easier to let your kids stay inside and play video games than to take them to the park. It’s nowhere near easy, but living a healthy lifestyle is the CHOICE we have to make. For our kids, our significant others, our neighbors, our family, our friends, but most importantly: FOR OURSELVES.

LIFE IS HARD and it can be so tempting to take the easy road. On this beautiful Monday, take a second to remind yourself why you do what you do.

Happy Monday, y’all! xo - Bree
